Welcome to the first Perspectives of the new Special Interest Group (SIG) 8, Public Health Issues Related to Hearing and Balance.
For the record, here are some fast facts about SIG 8:
SIG 8’s mission is to “address public health issues related to hearing and balance through a transdisciplinary approach.” The goal is to be inclusive across the human life span and across cultural groups and to address a range of topics including hearing loss prevention in military, occupational, and recreational contexts; sudden hearing loss and forensic audiology; falls prevention and other balance-related issues; and epidemiologic and sociologic issues.
