Well, here it is: a joint audiology issue of Perspectives that is focused entirely on noise and hearing conservation issues. I worked on this project as I wrapped up my 3-year term on the Division 8 Steering Committee in 2003. It is very satisfying to see it become a reality in 2004. I’ve learned that successful ASHA special interest divisions provide value to their affiliates when they deliver usable, practical information on a regular basis and foster professional dialogue among those affiliates. My hope is that this issue of Perspectives will be a valuable resource for Division 8 affiliates and indeed for all audiology division affiliates.
