Greetings fellow Division 8 affiliates. I'm delighted to serve as Coordinator, and I'm here to ask what your division can do for you. We're a very small group compared to the other divisions, and our voice is fairly faint. How can this special interest division serve your needs?
One important thing the division is involved with at the present time is the pursuit of Specialty Recognition in Occupational Audiology. Together with representatives from the National Hearing Conservation Association (NHCA), the Military Audiology Association (MAA), and the Air Force Audiology Association (AFAA), we're well on our way through Stage II in the application process. Our application has been reviewed by the Clinical Specialty Board (CSB), and we're editing the Stage II proposal into it's final format. Once we have final approval from the CSB, a Commission will be established to administer the program of recognition for the specialty. Stay tuned for further information.
